In 2009, the Foundation started its operations around Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve. Subsequent to the village surveys and baseline data collection, the Foundation initiated the process of providing Solar-powered lanterns to Rakhi village at the outskirts of Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve. This initiative will largely reduce the dependence of the villagers on forest for fuel wood for lighting and also ensure that children are able to study at night. In addition, the Foundation has been conducting vocational training for the villagers of Rakhi and Bijheria in candle-making, bamboo craft, etc. and has taken a lead role in bringing like-minded organisations on one platform for the conservation of Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve. In addition to the Rural Medical Outreach Programme, the Foundation also operates a 24X7 Snake Rescue Helpline in Bandhavgarh, which has given a fresh lease of life to several snake species found in the area.
